Form before function

Today at the gym the morning crew did deadlifts, are form was horrible and Joe let us know.  As bad as it does suck when Joe yells at us, its nice to know that he really cares about are form and safety.  I know that for me, sometimes ego gets in the way of my lifting.  I need to remind myself of the fact that without good form no results are gained.  Thanks Joe, even though sometimes I want to kill you.

well - i pretty much flipped on everyone today and i apologize for that.

lots of egos in the way today with very few exceptions.  i'm at a loss as to how i can better enforce proper technique as my words seem to go ignored too often.

it happened yesterday too...   we need to get back to moving heavier loads again...  but too many people are chasing the time and getting too sloppy.

notice how much i won by yesterday...      i'm not stronger or faster, i just do all the little form corrections i keep asking each of you to do.
-i don't hurt my back because don't yank the bar off the floor and i keep my back tight.
-i can jump the weight off my shoulders because it was ON my shoulders and i use my ass to drive my heels into the floor with a tight trunk.
-i can use that momentum to finish the press OVERHEAD with my shoulders rather than leaning back and chest pressing it above my head (and straining my back with over engaged hip flexors)

again, i apologise for yelling at everyone, but when i say the same things over and over and over - 37 different ways - i need you to stop, forget about your score and get the movement right.  if you want to go and do your own thing your own way, (and eventually get hurt), what are you paying me for?

I know i'm guilty, especially yesterday with the 135lb Thrusters. Defiantly have to take a step back, lighten the load and focus more on my form. As much as I like box jumps and double unders I'm all for some heaver movements back in the lineup. Be warned...once I get my form down I may come in like this:

I am not sure what your taking or if its the heavy thrusters from yesterday.  But you look different in that picture.  I think Joe will think twice before he yells at you again.  Wow
